Hydro Tasmania Safety Principles

  1. All injuries can be prevented
    We report all incidents, near misses and potential hazards so that steps can be taken to avoid potential harm.  We take pride in our health and wellbeing at work and at home.
  2. Employee involvement is essential
    We make it our business to give honest and constructive feedback and improve safety practices in the workplace.
  3. Everyone is responsible for safety
    If a workmate or contractor is doing something unsafe, we ask them to stop.  We actively take part in safety tours.
  4. We are all accountable for preventing injuries
    We make sure that work groups use agreed work procedures and systems of work for all tasks and that all operating exposures are safeguarded.
  5. Working safely is a condition of employment
    We apply our knowledge, skills and training to work safely at all times, with no compromise.  Management ensure that we have the necessary training to carry out our jobs safely.
  6. We will promote off the job safety for our employees
